Quarry Hill Art Auction

Quarry Hill School proudly presents the second annual Art Auction, a month-long art show culminating with dinner -- and live music from They Might Be Gypsies -- at American Flatbread in Middlebury on Wednesday, October 5, 5-9 PM. See below and our Art Auction event page and Art Auction photo album on Facebook for details and previews of artwork.

Artwork throughout September

Artwork for Quarry Hill School's 2nd Annual Art Auction will be featured at American Flatbread in the Middlebury Marbleworks for the month of September. Each of the pieces has been donated by an artist connected, either past or present, to Quarry Hill School. The work ranges from paintings and drawings by young aspiring artists from 5 to 15, to work by local favorites Anne Cady, Marty Fielding and others. There will be quilts, ceramics, as well as varied 2-dimensional work -- surely something to interest just about everyone. Bidders can get a number and participate in the silent auction throughout September.

Middlebury ArtsWalk - September 9th

On Friday September 9th the show will be featured in the monthly Middlebury ArtsWalk. See the September ArtsWalk flyer, swing by American Flatbread (Stop #12), and start your bidding!

Benefit dinner - October 5th

Wednesday October 5th from 5-9PM will be the culminating night of bidding, along with a benefit bake and live entertainment. Crafts will also be available for sale on this evening. A portion of the cost of every meal will benefit Quarry Hill, as well all proceeds from the sale of the artwork.

Live Music - October 5th

They Might Be Gypsies ensures a wonderful evening of fun and entertainment for families, friends, and music, food and art lovers. Inspired by the 1930s Gypsy Jazz of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli and contemporary gypsy masters as well, They Might Be Gypsies plays high energy, uplifting music with tremendous passion. At the core, the group is comprised of father and son duo Greg and Aidan Ryan. They've been described as "simultaneously cool and on fire ... (with a ) hellbending energy and musicality and an ease and joy that lets the rest of us sit back, gape and grin." (Rani Arbo) TMGB is celebrating the release of their second CD, which includes accompaniment by Rob Morse (Hadestown Orchestra, Viperhouse) on bass, Scott Kessel (Daisy Mayhem) on drumship, Dave Purcell (Bearquarium) on trumpet, David Gusakov (Swing Noire) on violin, Rani Arbo on vocals, and Terri Conti (Prana) on accordion.
